    Job Description

    Academic Year/Fall 2023 Internship Program:

    • Program Dates: September 18, 2023 – December 8, 2023/April 19, 2024
    • Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.

    The Universal Filmed Entertainment Group (UFEG) consists of the operations to produce, acquire, market and distribute filmed entertainment worldwide in various media formats for theatrical, home entertainment, television and other distribution platforms. The division operates globally with colleagues spread across 20 countries. We pride ourselves in supporting and amplifying diverse stories told by unique voices.     The below opportunities listed offer an extended internship experience which will span the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters. Working over winter break will not be required.

    Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

    • Rights & Clearances: Intern will work on various licensing agreements and other contracts related to the licensing of film and television content to various local television broadcasters internationally and global digital media platforms (JD students only)
    • Digital Asset Management: Intern will help create and maintain a library of marketing assets for all areas of the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group

    The below opportunities listed will be offered for the Fall semester only.

    Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

    • Sales Planning: Intern will support the various teams in the department by reviewing deal terms, running availability reports and various data sets. Once deals are close the team manages long term deals with product notices. Liaising with clients and Sales team with all aspects of managing TV output deals for several designated territories.
    • International Digital Media: Intern will support the team responsible for the sales and distribution of NBCUniversal product to all forms of television and new media platforms in over 200 territories across the globe
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements:

    • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program.
    • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
    • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
    • Detail-oriented
    • Comfortable with financial analyses and large sets of data
    • Proficient at problem solving
    • Prior experience with media research tools (Nielsen NNTV, NPower, ITVR) and/or understanding of TV ratings/audience statistics a plus
    • Coachable/eager to learn, positive attitude
    • Works independently, willingness to go the extra mile
    • Mindset of continuous improvement (e.g., suggestions and insights as a fresh set of eyes)
    • Strong excel skills (including prior work experience with excel models, pivot tables, and formulas)

    The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $17.00.

    The hourly rate for JD student interns is $25.00.
