    Job Description

    Summer 2024 Internship Program:

    • Program Dates: June 3 – August 9, 2024
    • Time Commitment: 40 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need.
    • Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from New York, NY 3-5 days per week.

    Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

    • Content Distribution: Opportunity for law students to take an active role in assisting NBCUniversal Content Distribution, a key revenue-generating division of the Company, in organizing and drafting deals for the distribution of (a) NBCUniversal’s complete TV network portfolio on cable/satellite/virtual pay television, (b) the Peacock app on connected TV and device platforms (e.g., Roku, Amazon) and (c) NBCU’s growing portfolio of free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels on major device and standalone platforms. Perfect role for someone who is eager to learn more about the “business end” of the media business who likes a collaborative, fast-paced, active deal environment that touches many areas of NBCUniversal’s television business.
    • Global Distribution Domestic Business Affairs : Intern will **** draft various licensing agreements and other contracts related to film and television licensing to various external partners, including global digital media platforms and local television broadcasters
    • Legal Rotational Experience: The NBCU Legal Function is hosting a Legal Rotational Experience for law students interested in Entertainment Law. The Legal Rotational Experience provides training, exposure, and opportunities to law students. It is a great opportunity for the curious and open-minded that want to explore several facets of the media law landscape.

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements:

    • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program.
    • In pursuit of a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress.
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
    • Must be willing to work in New York, NY.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
    • Current class standing of 1L or above.
    • Coursework and legal experience with an entertainment company or firm.
    • Strong research and writing skills.
    • Interest in the broadcast, digital media, and telecommunications industries
    • Commitment to building an inclusive work environment.

    The hourly rate for JD student interns is $25.00.
