    Job Description

    2023 – 2024 Academic Year Internship Program:

    • Program Dates: September 18, 2023 – April 19, 2024
    • Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.

    The Entertainment Group develops and schedules the network’s primetime, late-night, and daytime entertainment programming, including USA, SYFY, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, and Universal Kids. NBC’s quality programs and balanced line-up have earned the network critical acclaim, numerous awards and ratings success, including most recently winning the traditional September-to-May season in primetime’s key demo, marking the network’s third win in four years. NBC has earned more Emmy Awards than any network in television history.

    Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

    • Production Operations (Game Show Competition & True Crimes): The Game Show, Competition, True Crime, Documentary, and Live Events vertical in the Production & Operations department is the heart of production management for all cable networks, broadcast, and streaming for NBCU alternative content. From The Voice to Temptation Island and Cold Justice, the intern will have the opportunity to work on entertainment content across networks like Oxygen, E!, USA, NBC and Peacock. The intern will have the opportunity to work with many different internal departments including marketing, programming, finance, and creative on over 80 different original programs across several platforms. This position will be interactive and immersed in all aspects of the production management process.
    • Production Operations (Lifestyle): The Lifestyle vertical in the Production & Operations department is the heart of production management for all cable networks, broadcast, and streaming for NBCU alternative content. From the Real Housewives to Top Chef, the intern will have the opportunity to work on entertainment content across networks like Bravo, E!, USA, and Peacock. The intern will have the opportunity to work with many other different internal departments including marketing, programming, finance, and creative on over 80 different original programs across several platforms. This position will be interactive and immersed in all aspects of the production management process.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements:

    • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program.
    • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
    • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
    • Previous internship experience a plus
    • Interest in production management
    • Ability to multitask and stay highly organized
    • Filing and document management
    • Computer skills, especially in Excel

    The hourly rate for student interns is $17.00.
