Job Description The VP OF TECHNOLOGY PORTFOLIO OPERATIONS provides leadership across the Technology Group, maintaining a 360 view of the program portfolio whilst ensuring all technology teams are adequately staffed, trained and motivated to support the smooth running of the department. They will have a passion for delivery and an eye for detail, coupling excellent inter-personal skills and a data driven mindset to ensure accurate reporting & forecasting across the portfolio. This position will report to the Senior Vice President of Technology Delivery, and will work in a highly matrixed structure, working with technology teams across NBC and the wider Comcast group. Responsibilities include:
Qualifications • Minimum 12 years of experience in a project management function or in a technology delivery capacity, preferably within the media, technology, or OTT sector • Minimum of 4 years leading cross functional project teams, leading multi-work stream programs while scaling and driving resourcing strategies in a fast-growing environment • Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment. • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or adhere to enhanced protocols in select work settings or where jurisdictionally mandated. • Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols. Desired Characteristics • Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent, background in technology or engineering a significant plus • Experience working in a consulting or PMO function / capacity preferred • Team leader and builder, demonstrable experience in defining roles & responsibilities, job descriptions and career pathing across an organization – able to provide examples of growing teams sustainably. • Proven ability to lead and motivate team members across disparate global teams. Track record building and maintaining stakeholder relationships across different business functions. • Data driven approach to management, strong understanding of financial principles and standard reporting mechanisms. Track record of establishing efficient and repeatable processes and reporting to support intelligent enterprise-wide decision making, • Good understanding of delivery and program management best practices, ideally within the digital or OTT technology sector. • Good working understanding of agile software delivery at enterprise level. Expertise in establishing appropriate governance across portfolios, ensuring timely decision making and communications to executive leadership. • Capability to take initial ideas, concepts and strategy and shape into tangible and deliverable items. Excellent written and verbal communications, ability to tailor to all levels of an organization. Ability to explain the how and the why, not just the what and when. • Natural team leader, able to delegate effectively, empowering individuals whilst maintaining appropriate controls and monitoring. • Calm under pressure, able to make quick and rational decisions and maintain the focus of the team.
