    Job Description

    OVERVIEW:

    Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (UPHE) is comprised of both digital and physical distribution businesses, overseeing the sales and operations for digital transactional film and television content including PVOD, PEST, EST, and VOD for Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Illumination, DreamWorks Animation, and independent studios, as well as physical DVD and Blu-Ray product sales in multiple international markets.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Manager, Finance role is part of the head-office FP&A team located in Universal City, Los Angeles. It resides within Universal Pictures Home Entertainment reporting to the Sr. Finance Manager. The Manager will be responsible for assisting the Sr. Manager in two primary functions: 1) Managing the global FCF process; 2) Assist in managing the global Overhead process including headcount reporting. Both functions include monthly forecast submissions, consolidation, and corporate reporting. Across these processes, the manager will work closely with internal stakeholders on the Global FP&A team, including the Commercial FP&A and Global Controllership teams. Additionally, the manager will work with outside partners including but not limited to international territories, Film HQ, Marketing, IT, and various other resources across the organization. The candidate should have strong technical and analytical skills and intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Prior experience in SAP/AoE/BPC or Essbase is highly preferred but not required.

    • Manage Global FCF and Global Overhead consolidation, pacing, budget, and variance analysis.
    • Communicate results and key drivers to internal management and external (Film HQ) stakeholders.
    • Own all faces of monthly/quarterly reporting including but not limited to Capex and Liquidity submissions, headcount submissions, etc.
    • Manage monthly/quarterly actuals reconciliations of financial systems between. SAP/ECLIPSE/MARTY, including Domestic data integration.
    • Upload forecast into corporate systems.
    • Ensure data integrity and accuracy.
    • Identify and streamline system operations and processes.
    • Build effective business partner relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
    • Contribute to various initiatives and ad hoc projects.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
    • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in Accounting/Finance.
    • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical skills.
    • Proven experience in financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting.
    • Strong attention to detail and solid critical thinking.
    • Quick learner, self-starter, and team player.

    DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS : 

    • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite products – particularly strong Excel technical skills, with some SAP/AoE/BPC or Essbase knowledge.
    • Solid finance and accounting skills, excellent analytical abilities, outstanding process. improvement capabilities, and strong interpersonal skills.
    • General understanding of accounting principles: accruals, revenue, and costs recognition
    • Experience working with and mining large amounts of data and streamlining manual processes.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and high standards for quality and accuracy.
    • Solid organization skills and ability to prioritize multiple and competing priorities.
    • Solid track record of automation & process improvements.
    • Excellent communication and a proactive approach to building working relationships in a matrix environment.
    • Ability to plan and organize work in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to effectively handle sensitive and confidential matters.
    • Media/Entertainment experience.

     SALARY RANGE: $85,000-$115,000; BONUS ELIGIBLE.
