    Job Description

    ROLE SUMMARY:

    NBC Entertainment is seeking a Production Assistant to help support Late Night’s Writer’s Assistant and Associate Producer. This role is a temporary staff position with an end date. The assignment will be for 12-18 months.  

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Real-time news research and gathering throughout the week with an emphasis on politics and entertainment
    • Generate monologue joke set-ups conforming in the style of news lede-writing
    • Miscellaneous research and internal database maintenance
    • Script packet assembly for table reads

    Weekly Salary Range: $1,050 - $1,190

    BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

    • At least one year of production experience or internship-related experience 
    • Bachelor’s degree required 
    • Interested candidates must submit a resume for this job online to be considered
    • Position could be remote with opportunities for office assignments in New York, NY
    • Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
    • Must be willing to work weekends, nights as needed by show (Sundays)

    • Passion for late-night programming, current events and politics
    • Robust production and/or digital experience 
    • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
    • Works well independently and have teamwork mentality
    • Demonstrated ability to think clearly and quickly under pressure
    • Flexibility to work a schedule that meets deadlines and requirements
    • Excellent news judgment and familiarity with wide spectrum of media sources (social, digital, print and television)
    • Knowledge of LexusNexus or similar databases preferred

     

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
