    Job Description

    2023 – 2024 Academic Year Internship Program:

    The Entertainment Group develops and schedules the network’s primetime, late-night, and daytime entertainment programming, including USA, SYFY, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, and Universal Kids. NBC’s quality programs and balanced line-up have earned the network critical acclaim, numerous awards and ratings success, including most recently winning the traditional September-to-May season in primetime’s key demo, marking the network’s third win in four years. NBC has earned more Emmy Awards than any network in television history.

    Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

    • Bravo Digital Video: This intern will work alongside Producers/Editors on the Audience Growth & Development video team, with a major focus on Bravo. This team works to create video content to help market Bravo TV shows and the Bravo stars in the best way possible. This team’s content is published on BravoTV.com, YouTube, the Bravo app, and select social platforms. The goal of this team is to create dynamic content that will keep Bravo fans engaged and wanting more. Interns work on multiple video projects from pre-production through post-production and delivery. Projects include editing an Instagram story/reels, putting together behind-the-scenes videos filmed at show reunions, creating a 10-minute-long YouTube mash-up video, and helping research throughout a month-long project. Interns will also help develop creative ideas for upcoming interviews and shows.
    • Entertainment Digital Publishing: The Digital Publishing Group is a multiplatform publishing team responsible for content programming, promotion and shortform video publishing across our digital platforms. With a focus on data and analytics, the group helps drive video content and publishing strategy for Dotcom and YouTube. The team is also instrumental in the promotion of editorial and video content across major digital platforms, including Facebook and Twitter. Interns will have exposure to all things YouTube, from content management, analytics and content brainstorming. They will also have exposure to social media content planning and publishing across YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Exciting projects will include the actual writing of YouTube community tab posts and sourcing of content for the creation of mashup videos.
    • Entertainment Digital, Oxygen & SYFY: This team creates and publishes digital content, ranging from short form video to branded games and apps. The team also oversees the development and QA of the brand sites with the objective of using data to grow and engage fans. The intern will be working alongside several teams throughout the brands and will be exposed to content production as well as technical production. This would be an ideal opportunity for an intern to contribute to and experience the evolving landscape of television in the digital age.
    • Entertainment Post Production Operations: The Post Operations team partners with team members across the Creative Marketing, Engineering, Technology, Digital and Social teams. This team helps innovate, align and improve efficiencies for all post production workflow across the ELG Marketing Supply Chain Interns will be exposed to executing all facets of media management across the ELG Marketing Teams. Post Operation assignments include, but are not limited to: Post Kickoff Memos, Asset Request Retrieval and Movement (Video/Print/Digital) across Marketing Supply Chain (MSC), Organization and creation of folders for post workflow, transcode / encode media, onboarding of vendors/internal employees, etc.
    • Late Night Platforms: The intern in this role will assist the Late Night Platforms team in optimizing the digital experience for NBC’s tentpole late night brands (Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Saturday Night Live) including Search Engine Optimization, data management, research, writing and digital asset creation.
    • **Oxygen Editorial & Digital: **Oxygen Digital is one of the premier destinations for true crime fans, where the audience will get not only the latest content based on the Oxygen Network’s popular shows, but also independently produced and curated crime news and feature content, including news articles, videos and podcasts. The intern in this role will research and write articles in support of Oxygen’s broadcast shows, as well as for the news team. They will also help with website upkeep and editing.

    Basic Requirements:

    • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program.
    • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
    • Must be working virtually from a location within the United States during all hours worked.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
    • Previous internship experience a plus
    • Interest in production and pop culture
    • Familiarity with Adobe Premiere + Adobe Creative Suite, Media Encoder and other editing or media management software
    • Basic Photoshop & Excel skills
    • Familiarity with simple content management systems
    • Excellent writing & research skills
    • Sound editorial judgement
    • Eye for detail
    • General fluency in digital platforms, especially Facebook/IG/Twitter

    The hourly rate for student interns is $17.00.
