    Job Description

    This Business Engagement Manager is a key member of the Studio Distribution Technical Operations organization. The role engages with the Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (UPHE) business, which manages the distribution of our film and TV content to consumers across physical and digital media. This position partners with UPHE to define their technology roadmap, manages the team that develops technology solutions, and provides support for their global application portfolio.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain relationships with Domestic and International Home Entertainment teams. Learn and understand their business processes, data dependencies and workflows, and needs for technology solutions
    • Manage the UPHE technology and application roadmaps, incorporating new business needs and ensuring that it meets their goals and objectives
    • Act as subject matter expert across all UPHE systems and serve as the point of escalation for internal and external stakeholders
    • Collaborate with enterprise product teams to implement companywide technology initiatives and ensure that solutions adopt best practices and align to strategic goals
    • Lead IT development projects across the application portfolio, partnering with business, enterprise product, and engineering teams through all phases of the project lifecycle
    • Manage a team of full-time employees and contractors. Provide day-to-day direction, set and measure goals and objectives, and provide regular feedback on performance and career progression.
    • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience
    • 7+ years of experience in a business-facing application development or support role
    • 5+ years of leadership experience managing and mentoring teams of technical resources
    • 5+ years of experience managing all phases of mid to large-scale IT projects
    • Understanding of IT project management methodologies and software development processes along with associated best practices
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather input from multiple sources and articulate technical recommendations and a point-of-view for key decisions
    • Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities and leverage support team members as necessary
    • Excellent written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills with comfort communicating to all levels of the organization

    ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
    • Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols

    DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS

    • Experience in Media & Entertainment industry or with packaged media products
    • Ability to work in a matrixed organization and effectively collaborate with teams in multiple locations and time zones
    • Experience managing a portfolio of applications across multiple functions
