    Job Description

    As the Associate Producer in charge of Post-Production, you will work directly with Senior Producers. Producers, Control Room Team, and Editors to oversee the final edit of all taped hours for the 10AM hour of TODAY. You will also act as the main creative and production point person for the daily show opens.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure quality and continuity of all tapes segments and teases across tapes shows.
    • Work closely with control room, associate directors and editors s to confirm proper timing of shows.
    • Request additional material from Director and producers where needed to complete the show.
    • Provide daily updates of show production status.
    • Collaborate with Senior Producers on approval for show final cut.
    • Work with Rights & Clearance to ensure show material is cleared for air.
    • Select final bump music for tape shows.
    • Consistently and accurately report music to cue sheets.
    • Source and clear the strongest material for daily show opens.
    • Provide input for the creative direction of show opens.
    • Support morning editors in creation of show open.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication, Media Production, English, History or a related field of study
    • 2+ years of experience working in production, at the network or syndication level
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
    • Willingness to work early hours and overtime, and on weekends with short notice
    • Must be willing to work in New York, NY

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Strong journalistic writing skills, research skills, and editorial judgment
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments + self-starter
    • Experience using social media
    • Strong interpersonal communication and follow-up skills
    • Knowledge of NBC News Policies and Guidelines and Practices
    • Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in news, current events and pop culture
    • Experience in non-linear editing a plus
    • Ability to work with various NBC News departments including Editing Operations, Crew Desk, Graphics, Media Archives and more.

    Additional Job Requirements:

    • Hybrid : This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
