• Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from Orlando, FL 3-5 days per week.

NBC Sports Next is a subdivision of NBC Sports and home to all NBCUniversal digital applications in sports and technology within its three groups: Youth & Recreational Sports, Golf, and Betting, Gaming & Emerging Media. Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

IT Support & Operations:

• Partner Care Support & Implementation – Our Partner Care Implementation Team is responsible for consulting, implementing, and onboarding our operations technology solutions which Partner Golf Courses use to successfully run their businesses. As an intern for our team, you will have direct interaction with people in entry level positions all the way up to the Vice President of the department.

• Golf Activations – the GolfNow Activations intern will collaborate with all levels of the of the Activations team, and internal stakeholders, to create efficiencies and support in the implementation of point-of-sale technology to our golf course partners, and in the hardware inventory and procurement process.

Data Science:

• Decision Science – this intern will assist handling the inputs and outputs of our operational algorithms, assist in running the algorithms, makes inferences about the data and research new methodologies of enhancing the inhouse processes using operations research and advanced analytics techniques.

Finance: ****

• FP &A – This team is responsible for budget creation, communication, and management across GolfNow and SportsEngine. We also support ad hoc financial analysis, manage communication of financials to internal stakeholders and NBC Sports HQ, manage and track headcount, and in general, work closely with all departments within the businesses.

• Revenue Planning & Analysis – this role will be part of the Revenue Planning & Analysis team, a part of the larger revenue group under NBC Sports Next, focusing on supporting the NBC Sports Next digital divisions such as Golf and Youth & Recreational Sports. The revenue team includes various analyst and senior analysts who help support all revenue streams by providing ad hoc analytical support and revenue modeling for internal stakeholders. This role will help to analyze large datasets to create executive level summaries of key trends in the business utilizing Tableau and other tools. The role will also be exposed to various revenue processes such as revenue forecasting and financial modelling while working closely with various stakeholders across the company.

Product & Technology:

• GolfNow Product – in our Product Management department, we are responsible for identifying market needs and transitioning those needs into software products and solutions in youth and recreational sports. As an intern with the Product Management team, you will get exposure to the inner workings of a modern software company and how work gets from an idea to a live experience in the hands of customers.

User Design:

• UX Design & Research – NBC Sports Next Golf team designs and develops industry leading digital consumer businesses like GolfNow and GolfPass. Our UX Design group is directly responsible for creating and optimizing the end user experience of these digital applications that touch millions of people daily. This intern will work with Engineering, QA, Product Managers, Project Leaders as well as business stakeholders within the NBC Sports consumer business vertical and beyond.

Quality Assurance Engineering:

• QA Engineering – The GolfNow Quality team is responsible for the quality of several front-end web sites and mobile applications, as well as the backend API’s, services, and tasks that power our products. We cover the testing for public facing products such as Golfnow.com, Teeoff.com, Golfpass.com, their international sites and CMS admins, mobile applications, and OTT applications.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
• Must be willing to work in Orlando, FL.

Desired Characteristics:

• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $20.00.

The hourly rate for graduate student interns is $25.00.

The hourly rate for Finance interns is $25.00.

The hourly rate for Decision Sciences is $30 - $35.00.
