    Job Description

    Responsibilities:

    CNBC Digital is looking for an experienced editor to work with the Senior Editor helping to manage the technology-news team. The ideal candidate will know the industry inside and out, from Apple to AI to VCs. Some understanding of how media and entertainment are playing a role with the big tech companies would be useful. The ideal candidate will know how to direct coverage of Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and other mega-cap tech companies. They will help reporters develop sources and understand the stories they should be covering. They may also get to do some original reporting or write smart analysis themselves. It is critical they are knowledgeable about markets and can work collaboratively with our TV network. They will have roughly five or more years of experience in daily news, with a proven track record of breaking news, writing, or editing long-form features and delivering high-quality, high-impact journalism. Should also be comfortable managing live blogs on a story that merits.

    Duties include:

    • Editing breaking news in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
    • Writing headlines with an eye toward SEO
    • Experience editing fast-moving breaking news
    • A clear understanding of style and grammar
    • Helping writers frame stories for a national audience
    • Mentor, coach, and empower both junior and experienced reporters

    • Ability to lead across many independent tracks of work and teams
    • Demonstrated effectiveness developing plans, prioritizing activities and driving execution
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present complex information clearly and appropriately handle sensitive information
    • Strong organizational skills with experience coordinating multiple work streams simultaneously, proactively and independently
    • Strong relationship building skills
    • Proactive risk management
    • Ability to problem-solve and think outside of the box
    • Experience of process improvement

    Desirable Skills and Experience

    • Proficiency working with Airtable
    • Proficiency working with Atlassian / JIRA software tools
    • Experience or familiarity with Figma

    Essential Knowledge and Experience

    • A minimum of 10 years of program management experience with 3 years of experience managing people
    • Understanding of Product development lifecycle at scale
    • Thorough understanding of Waterfall and Agile project methodologies
    • Experience managing multiple programs with many dependencies simultaneously

    Desired Knowledge and Experience

    • An understanding of the streaming industry i.e., landscape, business models & trends
    • Experience delivering digital commerce features preferred
    • Experience delivering partnerships and backend product features preferred
