    Job Description

    RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    • As a Crash Producer for the TODAY show, you will be responsible for pitching, developing, and turning news of day pieces for next day air
    • Produce original news content, primarily for broadcast, including research, conducting interviews, writing and editing scripts, field producing and shooting, and overseeing editing
    • Expected to pitch story ideas and work on assigned stories developed by the editorial team
    • Work with Standards & Legal Team to ensure Editorial Standards of all segments
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • At least 4-5 years’ editorial experience working in production at the network level, preferably with morning television
    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or equivalent
    • Must have experience working with an editor
    • Ability to shoot and edit
    • Experience working with on-air correspondents
    • Must have strong journalistic writing and research skills, as well as editorial judgment
    • Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in news and current events
    • Strong interpersonal skills and storytelling ability
    • Must be willing to work in New York, NY
    • Required to work Sunday –Thursday 4pm – 12am, or later (overnight in the capacity of Crash Producer)
    • Must have flexible hours and be willing to work overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends, often with short notice
