    Job Description

    The Portfolio Optimization & Strategy team is a newly created team that leverages data (of all kinds) to conceive, cross-functionally coordinate, and ultimately help implement Portfolio-focused business & operational optimizations and growth strategies across NBC Entertainment properties on both Linear and Streaming. This role works closely with the Cross-Platform Insights and Analytics team to turn business and consumer intelligence into tangible business outcomes.

    Reporting to the VP of Portfolio Optimization & Strategy, the Director of Portfolio Optimization & Strategy will serve as a leading team member across a variety of project types including: evaluating new business opportunities, generating new ideas leveraging audience data and consumer intelligence, maximizing cross-portfolio content value, coordinating business transformation projects across departments, and finding opportunities to help grow Peacock leveraging the scale of the linear platform and the value of NBCU’s content/IP.

    The individual must be an excellent communicator, well-versed in working with large data sets, comfortable presenting to senior executives and stakeholders across the organization, experienced assembling robust business cases, and building consensus across large, complex organizations.

    _ Responsibilities:_

    • Transform data into action by using a combination of audience data and business and consumer intelligence to proactively identify and evaluate trends, new distribution platforms, and business opportunities in media and adjacent industries
    • Support project management and consensus building among internal stakeholders for special projects across the NBCU Entertainment Organization
    • Serve as a cross-departmental liaison for special projects, including information sharing and process building among a broad array of key stakeholders, including Finance, Research, Strategy, Marketing, Program Planning, etc.
    • Create compelling presentations and other documents supported by strong qualitative and quantitative storytelling
    • Connect the dots between consumer content preferences, business needs, and financial inputs to optimize viewership, content spend and revenue generation
    • Find opportunities for value tradeoffs between different parts of the Entertainment portfolio
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related fields. MBA preferred
    • 7+ years experience in finance, consulting, strategic planning, corporate strategy / development, or related industry role (media, entertainment, digital)
    • Deep strategic knowledge of the linear/digital business and media ecosystem
    • Strong business / financial acumen - ability to form judgments and actionable recommendations
    • Proficient in communicating complex ideas and data sets graphically in an effective way for senior-level executives
    • Superior attention to detail
    • Experience and high level of comfort working with large data sets across a variety of different data sources
    • Excellent project management skills
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    • Takes initiative and is a self-starter, with the ability to lead projects from inception to completion
    • Ability to work both independently, as a member of a collaborative team, and lead cross-department working groups comprised of similar level individuals
    • High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel & Word
    • Knowledge and familiarity with Nielsen data and other behavioral data a plus.

    _ Hybrid_ : This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

    _ Salary range_ : $125,000 - $175,000
