    Overview:

    We are seeking a proactive and organized Project Coordinator to lead and facilitate Design Thinking sessions within the Rockingham County community. The successful candidate will consult NC 100 and our partners as well as play a crucial role in organizing and coordinating various aspects of Design Thinking practices in partnership with Cone Health, including communication, community engagement, material preparation, and report documentation.

    What do we mean by facilitation?

    This means we are looking for a candidate that has experience helping groups move from ideas to action within their boundaries, often in the context of meetings. At NC 100, we require our team members to refrain from adding personal opinions without solicitation. This role will focus on process in the form of small groups for trust, large group processing, and direct evaluations.

    The Project Coordinator will work closely with stakeholders, including facilitators, community partners, and Design Team participants, to ensure the success and effectiveness of the program. The role is a hybrid, with the expectation that the coordinator will be available for 10-12 “in office” days per month at the NC 100 headquarters at the Reidsville Area Foundation, located at 124 S Scales Street, Reidsville, NC, with occasional travel for in-person meetings in Rockingham County and beyond at up to 5 locations.

By organizing and facilitating Design Thinking sessions, this role contributes to capacity-building efforts and fosters community engagement.

    **Specific Expectations for contract work:

    Organize and Coordinate Design Thinking Sessions:

    • Lead recruitment with Cone Health's HPHC Program Manager to recruit Design Team participant members.
    • Provide orientation to Design Team members and engage them in pursuing project objectives.
    • Support active participation of Design Team members and foster a positive and inclusive environment.
    • Facilitate the scheduling and logistics of monthly sessions in collaboration with local stakeholders.
    • Coordinate with facilitators, convening partners, and potential steering committees to ensure smooth execution of sessions.
    • Perform all necessary communications to facilitate robust community engagement by centering diverse voices and stakeholders.
    • Work closely with community members to understand their needs, aspirations, and values directly.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to disseminate information and promote participation in the program.
    • Promote and practice inclusive processes that account for power imbalances as model for other mainstream organizations.
    • Provide handouts and other materials required for Design Thinking sessions.
    • Ensure all necessary resources are available and distributed effectively to support sessions in partnership with Cone Health and their partners.
    • Assist or support the production of written reports that comprehensively document the findings and outcomes of Design Thinking sessions; gather intelligence, data and other information, and draft strategy memos or other analytical materials for principals; compile feedback and insights gathered during sessions for further analysis and improvement.

    Documentation and Reporting:

    • Responsible for assisting NC 100 staff with general operational duties including, but not limited to, research, data entry, filing, and general coordination.
    • Assisting with planning, coordinating, facilitating, and record-keeping for meetings.
    • Researching and summarizing case studies and other materials and assisting in the planning and overseeing of significant events.
    • Scheduling meetings, conducting interviews, and any relevant correspondence.
    • Support the creation of marketing materials like flyers and social media posts using NC 100-provided platforms.

    Key Qualities and Skills:

    Required:

    • Familiarity with rural communities, preferably in Rockingham County and surrounding areas.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a professional facilitator.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual meeting applications.
    • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
    • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields.
    • Familiarity with technology and social media platforms.
    • Knowledge of Design Thinking methodologies.
    • Experience in meeting facilitation.
    • Fluency in Spanish (written and oral).
    • Experience in project coordination or community engagement.
    • Discretion and confidentiality. Sensitivity to issues of all protected groups/communities and a desire to work in a racially and socially diverse organization.
    • Must have a sincere curiosity about rural communities, be willing to explore issues of inclusion, power, privilege, and diversity, and be exceptionally committed to personal integrity, professionalism, and excellence.
    • 1-2 years of experience with non-profit organizations or local coalitions or currently enrolled in a relevant graduate studies program.
    • Experience working with philanthropy, including writing grant proposals and reports.
