Position Summary
A leading bottled water and beverage company is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Regional Manager – North East to lead profitable sales growth, market expansion, and strategic account development across the North East territory. This role will be instrumental in launching and expanding a new line of Sparkling Spring Water while overseeing all bottled water product lines, including Branded, Private Label, and Innovation portfolios.
The Regional Manager will manage internal sales personnel and direct third-party broker resources under a retail development distribution (RDD) model. This leader will play a critical role in advancing regional priorities, strengthening market presence, and ensuring operational excellence in a highly competitive landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Market Development
Develop and execute annual business plans to meet and exceed volume, revenue, and profitability targets across all product lines.
Lead the North East Sparkling Water launch, including customer targeting, pricing, and promotional strategy alignment.
Expand product distribution within key channels: grocery, food service, convenience, wholesale, and mass retailers.
Identify and capture new business opportunities and underpenetrated markets to drive regional growth.
Strategic Account Leadership
Manage and grow relationships with major regional accounts including top retailers and wholesale distributors.
Foster top-to-top relationships with key decision-makers at major customer organizations.
Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver strategic presentations, support innovation initiatives, and secure long-term customer partnerships.
Team & Broker Management
Directly lead and develop a team of four (4) sales professionals.
Oversee the RDD broker network, ensuring execution excellence, alignment with priorities, and accountability for performance standards.
Support onboarding and ongoing development of new sales talent, cultivating a culture of performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Operational & Financial Discipline
Align regional sales execution with supply chain, production, and marketing functions to ensure readiness and responsiveness.
Manage and optimize regional promotional budgets and T&E expenses in accordance with company guidelines.
Provide regular reporting on regional performance, market insights, competitive dynamics, and financial forecasting to corporate leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Operations, Logistics, and Customer Service teams to ensure superior customer satisfaction and execution.
Contribute to national strategic planning and execution initiatives aligned with broader company growth objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience:
8+ years of sales experience within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) or beverage industry.
Proven leadership in managing both direct sales teams and broker networks across a multi-state region.
Demonstrated success in launching new products and securing major regional and national retail accounts.
Skills & Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of the North East retail and direct store delivery (DSD) landscapes.
Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.
Entrepreneurial spirit with a strong bias for execution and results.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a high-velocity environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and occasionally perform retail merchandising activities.
Ability to travel by car and airplane as needed.
Work Environment
Home-office based, with frequent travel to customer sites, regional offices, and industry events.
Exposure to retail and warehouse environments during store visits and audits.
Travel Requirements
30%–40% travel required (approximately 2–3 days per week).
