    ABOUT WORC2

    Developed by NEI GENERAL CONTRACTING in conjunction with our partners, WORC2 is designed to engage local, community‐based, and diverse businesses and workers. Our particular focus will be PROVIDING WORKERS AND SMALL BUSINESSES WITH “ONE-STOP SHOPPING” FOR RESOURCES AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT THAT PROMOTE GROWTH AND SUCCESS IN EITHER THEIR CAREERS OR BUSINESSES.

    THE ROLE

    We are seeking a Winter (December '21-April '22) Intern to support our WORC2 Program Team.

    Hours vary per internship/fellowship, but we expect the Fall term to run from September through December, with the possible option to continue working with us over the Winter.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • The intern provides support and assistance to the Program Manager on all activities related to the WORC2 program.

    • Duties include logistical support such as coordinating events, community outreach, updating and  maintaining a database on participants, and other projects assigned by the Program Manager. Other duties as defined.

    • Outgoing personality, enthusiastic, makes friends – personal and professional.

    • Ability to work independently but also take guidance

    • Organized with the ability and desire to track multiple projects in a self-induced, fast-paced environment

    • Detail-oriented with the ability to pick out typos and grammatical issues consistently

    • High degree of energy, enthusiasm, tenacity, and creativity

    • Self-starter and driven to make a difference.

    WORKING CONDITIONS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level as well as on the job site.
