    NES is searching for a COMSEC Technician

    Duties will include but are not limited to:

    Assist DCMA COMSEC PM in the daily operation and management of the DCMA COMSEC account and enterprise COMSEC support program. 

    Perform the duties as Alternate COMSEC Manager and system administrator for the Phase 5 Local Management Device/Key Processor (LMD/KP) and LCMS/CUAS COMSEC accounting databases.

    Conduct training on the SKL and DMD Power Station Tier-3 fill devices.  Install, configure and maintain secure voice terminals, secure voice/data/video communications systems and associated communications security equipment at HQ DCMA, its geographically separated operating locations, remote sites, and US Government controlled facilities. 

    Install, strap, configure, perform software updates and key the STE and vIPerI SCIP Type-1 Secure Voice devices and KIV-7HSB, KIV-7M, FNAC21 OMNIxi  high speed serial encryption equipment. 

    Configure and key and KG-175 TACLANE and KG-250 inline network encryption systems. 

    Perform preventative maintenance checks and services for COMSEC equipment to include software upgrades, configuration changes, and modification of security strappings.

    Coordinate depot level maintenance services for inoperable equipment assets.   

    Maintain associated test equipment, spare parts and cabling.  Coordinate and provide secure communications support required to exercise command and control in the execution of DCMA unique support operations and training exercises.

    Required Skills

    Completion of formal Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) training for the MGC/AKP as well as formal COMSEC Manager training.  Candidate must have Security+ certification and have completed KMI CPA training as well as vendor specific training and certification for L3 STE terminals, General Dynamics KG-175 Taclane INE systems and use of the General Dynamics Encryptor Manager (GEM) workstation to manage KG-175 Taclanes.  Individual must be certified for maintenance of KIV-7M crypto devices and possess a valid DD 2625.

    Required Experience

    Ten years’ experience in Air Force COMSEC account management and proficiency in the operation and system administration of MGC/AKP, SKL, and DMD Power Station. This position requires at least three years’ experience as a COMSEC Manager for an Air Force COMSEC account.  This experience includes management of the Secure Voice Program and Air force CAP Program.

     

    Experience as a CPA for a KMI Operating Account with Spin 2 Spiral 1 MGC.  Must have knowledge and experience as system administrator for Windows 7 and 10 platforms.

     

    Experience at the Combatant Command or Defense Agency level as Controlling Authority and or Command Authority with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Traditional and Modern Key Management and cryptographic key material distribution with emphasis on Black Key operations.

     

    Formal training and certification to install, strap and maintain SCIP secure voice devices, KIV-7M based Link Encryptors as well as KG-175 TACLANE, KG-245 and KG-250 HAIPE Inline Network Encryption Systems.

     

    This position requires at least five years of specialized experience with the installation, operation and maintenance of secure voice, data and video teleconferencing equipment and systems. Must be familiar with ISDN, T1 and IP networking protocols and security requirements for DRSN, DVSG, SIPRNET and JWICS networks.
