The position provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of sustainable energy technologies. The successful candidate will have the chance to drive the development of innovative carbon management projects, playing a crucial role in delivering the energy trifecta and promoting environmental stewardship. _
Job Summary:
The Head of Carbon Solutions will lead the development and implementation of carbon management strategies supporting the growth of NET Power. This position will collaborate with the origination and licensing teams to analyze, identify, and develop innovative solutions for the permanent and safe management of captured carbon dioxide. The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience in the oil and natural gas industry, with a strong background in carbon sequestration, geology, petroleum engineering, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify , Develop & Lead Carbon Management Strategies
- Working closely with the origination, licensing and project management teams, this role is responsible for analyzing market opportunities, identifying viable carbon management projects, and developing strategies to drive the growth of NET Power. Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on market assessments.
- Develop comprehensive carbon management strategies, leveraging industry best practices and innovative technologies. Provide technical guidance and expertise in carbon sequestration, geology, and petroleum engineering to support the development and optimization of carbon management solutions. Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends in carbon capture, utilization, and storage.
- Identify and assess potential risks and challenges associated with carbon management projects. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure project success and long-term viability.
- Stay current with evolving carbon management regulations and ensure that all sequestration and utilization projects comply with relevant laws, permits, and reporting obligations.
Project Execution
- Collaborating closely with internal partners, identify, evaluate, and recommend carbon management projects that align with NET Power's strategic objectives.
- Oversee all carbon management projects ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards while overseeing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables. Ensure effective coordination among internal teams and external partners.
- Collaborate with government agencies, industry partners, research institutions, and other stakeholders to establish partnerships, secure funding, and drive the implementation of carbon management projects.
**Ed ucate, Align & Manage **
- Collaborate across internal departments to ensure alignment and seamless execution of carbon management initiatives.
- Lead and motivate a team of professionals dedicated to carbon solutions. Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback to foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as geology, petroleum engineering, or environmental science.
- Experience in carbon sequestration or similar experience, e.g., secondary and tertiary injections.
- Strong understanding of carbon capture, utilization, and storage technologies, and regulatory frameworks related to carbon management.
- Proven track record in project management, preferably in the oil and gas sector, with the ability to manage complex projects and drive them to successful completion.
- Demonstrated knowledge of geology and reservoir engineering principles relevant to carbon transportation and sequestration projects.
- Familiarity with carbon utilization technologies and their commercial applications would be advantageous.
- Able to work effectively and successfully in a matrixed environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on finding practical and effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, collaborate and influence with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of environmental and sustainability aspects related to carbon management would be an advantage.
