    Compensation

    $40-$80/hr.

    Position Summary

    A highly skilled NETA-Certified Technician responsible for testing, maintaining, and commissioning low- and medium-voltage electrical power systems. This role involves performing detailed inspections, troubleshooting, and evaluating critical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, protective relays, and power cables. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, knowledge of industry standards, and a commitment to safety, quality, and effective communication while working both independently and within a team environment.

    Job Function

    • Interpret and analyze electrical one-line diagrams
    • Perform testing, maintenance, startup, and commissioning of electrical power distribution systems
    • Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment
    • Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
    • Power cables (Tan Delta and VLF testing)
    • Battery backup systems
    • Current and potential transformers
    • Grounding systems (point-to-point testing)
    • Protective relays
    • Switchgear and panelboards
    • Power transformers

    Education and Experience

    • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience testing and evaluating low- and medium-voltage electrical power systems
    • NETA Level II, III, or IV Certification

    Qualifications

    • Strong background in testing, maintaining, and commissioning electrical power systems
    • In-depth knowledge of NETA Acceptance and Maintenance Testing Specifications
    • Familiarity with NFPA 70B and industry electrical codes and standards
    • OSHA Electrical Safety and NFPA 70E safety training
    • Up-to-date knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE/ANSI standards, and electrical classifications
    • Experience with circuit breaker testing (primary and secondary injection)
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
    • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to safety and quality
    • Willingness to travel overnight up to 10%
