    Job Description

    Netcom Technologies provides nationwide technology integration and cabling infrastructure solutions. Our focus is on the design, build and maintenance of Telecom Infrastructure, Physical Security, and Audio and Video systems for commercial and Government end users.

    We are actively hiring telecom cabling technicians with copper cable and fiber experience for a large long-term project in the Metro Washington DC area. Preference given to those with fiber and outside plant experience and/or BISCI Technician certification.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar low voltage construction, methods and equipment, tools and work procedures required.

    • Can be a combination of training, education and/or relevant work experience.

    • BICSI Installer or BICSI Technician Preferred

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • Fiber optics, inside wiring, wireless protocols, and information technology.

    • Industry specific tools and equipment.

    • DOT, electrical safety, and construction safety codes.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR OSP.

    • Installs and maintains fiber optic and copper networks.

    • Installs, repairs, and maintains all customer premise equipment.

    • Research problems and finds efficient resolutions using proper troubleshooting procedures.

    • Performs acceptance testing on plant facilities to ensure proper operation of customer services.

    • Responsible for material inventory including but not limited to receiving, stocking, handling, and counting.

    • Stays updated on various network and consumer technologies.

    • Promotes Netcom to the public at all times through their actions, communications, and personal presentation. Ensures quality products and superb customer service are delivered at every available opportunity.

    • Participates in a team effort to achieve departmental and company goals.

    • Conform to all safety procedures, DOT, OSHA, and other regulatory guidelines.

    • Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.
