Position: Certified Teacher -Tutor
Locations: Camden’s Pride: 879 Beideman Ave, Camden, NJ 08105 or Katz Dalsey: 3098 Pleasant St, Camden, NJ 08105
Hours on Site: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm (Additional pay for lesson prep, coaching, and meetings)
Time Frame: Paid training will be in the evenings via Zoom from June 20 - June 23; Sites will run tutoring sessions from July 5 to July 28.

BASIC FUNCTION
The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides high-dosage tutoring for K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps. The New Jersey Tutoring Corps seeks to hire tutors to work with scholars in partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCA summer day camps from June to August. Tutors will work with small groups of scholars, typically in groups of 1-5, in grades K-5 in building skills in math and literacy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Engage with scholars in grades K-8 to build on existing mathematics and/or literacy skills;
Complete daily records on scholar progress and site needs using the tools provided;
Use diagnostic data to drive instruction;
Communicate regularly with NJTC Site Coordinator and site staff to provide optimum learning- experiences for Scholars;
Participate in coaching from an Instructional Coach;
Use an asset-based approach in working with Scholars and other staff;
Be responsive and work collaboratively with other Tutors and site staff;
Complete all training.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
Experience working with young children, preferably in a learning and teaching capacity.
Standard certificate, certificate of eligibility (CE), or certificate of eligibility with advanced standing (CEAS).
New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form)
Experience with Google Suite functions including Google Sheets and forms.
Professional skills include attention to detail, timely and proactive communication, and job preparedness.
Reliable transportation to travel to sites.

Genuine desire to work with young children in a teaching capacity, building on foundational skills and closing learning gaps using formative and summative data and strong teaching pedagogy.
