  • Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED: 

    • Work on building, configuring, and deploying SQL databases.  
    • Ability to manage multiple Database Servers, including administration, application configurations, upgrades, SQL approved backups and system patching.
    • Performance Monitoring experience using various tools and scripted processes. 
    • Participate in meetings, workshops, and technical assessments.
    • Provide technical guidance and support for incident management and problem-solving to ensure customer satisfaction.

     

     

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  

    • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related discipline preferred but not required.
    • Minimum 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in designing, implementing, and administering database systems; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
    • Strong SQL Database Administration.

     

    TECHNICAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: 

    • Experience in creating, maintaining, and upgrading databases and schemas.
    • Ability to apply knowledge of memory management techniques, storage, and common database tuning techniques to ensure system performance.
    • Must be able to monitor, log, and resolve database performance issues, response times for reports and transactions, unusual entries in the alert logs, trace files, failures, and free space. 
    • Experience with deployment of critical patch updates and security patches within a Government-Approved deployment and mitigation schedules to maintain a hardened and secure infrastructure. 
    • Experience with database optimization, performance tuning, backup and restoration, table space allocation/management, managing the overall health and status of the database, managing the database schema, creating triggers and storage procedures, monitoring alert logs, and resolving database-related issues. 
    • Perform and test backup and recovery processes. Leverage existing tools to perform daily exports and snapshots to reconstitute databases in the event of a failure.  
    • Document methodologies used in the administration of databases, execution of requests, and standard reporting.
    • Working knowledge of SharePoint

     

    ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

    • The candidate should also possess strong oral and written communication, problem-solving skills and should be a team player 
    • Must go through a government background investigation/clearance (MBI or greater) 
    • US Citizenship or work-authorization is required

    Hourly Rate: $40-45/hour (DOE)
