  • Responsibilities

    The Crisis Stabilization Unit, an integral part of the Aspire Health Alliance's emergency services, provides a stabilizing alternative to hospitalization with a focus on retaining connections to family and community to an intensely supervised outpatient setting.  The unit offers individuals access to six on-site beds during times of crisis.  Clients staying in the Crisis Stabilization Unit have immediate access to crisis clinicians and to a broad range of community programs.  Length of stay is generally one to three days, but is flexible to meet individual needs. 

    LPNs work to provide specialized care to consumers in a 24-hour crisis stabilization setting.  Responsible for: Monitoring and Documenting medication self administration during clients’ stay; Monitoring client physical medical issues and working with Mental Health Workers to arrange for acute medical care for clients when needed; Facilitating health and wellness groups and activities; Delivering treatment interventions that are strength based and solution-focused; Encouraging consumer completed risk management/safety plans and Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP); Coordinating with clients’ outpatient and CCS care providers; Completing documentation per shift as assigned;  Participating in ongoing required training. 

    Required Skills

    • LPN Certification (required).
    • Familiarity with Recovery oriented treatment for severe mental illness (preferred) 
    • Must demonstrate the following characteristics: reliable, responsible, team player, ability to grow and learn in the position, detail-oriented, organized, flexible, capacity to provide support and quality care to improve the physical and mental health of individuals served.
    • Must be an independent problem-solver, able to work with minimal supervision when necessary
    • Must have a car and a good driving record

    Required Experience

    • One-year experience in an acute mental health and/or dual diagnosis setting (preferred).
