Job Title: Tax - Staff Accountant

Reports To: Tax Director

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Division: Neuman & Associates

Department: Tax - Business Management

Your Role: The Business Management team in Encino is hiring the next Tax - Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate will have experience with tax planning, compliance, financial statement preparation as well as compilation. You will have 3-5 years of experience in the accounting industry and be an excellent communicator and team player.

What will you do?

• Enter / Reconcile client brokerage statements.
• Prepare client financial statements.
• Prepare cash flow projections and budgets for clients.
• Assist the tax department on tax planning and preparation matters.
• Prepare other complex reports and financial analysis for clients and Partners as needed.
• Perform various accounting analysis of general ledgers, financial statements, and similar.
• Create Journal Entries
• Assist with setup of new client financial records as needed.
• Assist with year‐end close as needed.
• Other projects as assigned.

What Do you Need to Succeed:

• Experience with tax planning and compliance (primarily U.S.) for individuals, S‐Corp’s, partnerships, trusts (and other closely held entities) is a plus.
• Experience with financial statement preparation and compilation.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks, Xero, and other common accounting software
• Knowledge of Datafaction / AgilLink preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of CCH Axcess or ProSystem preferred.
• Expert Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
• Must have exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Experience with entertainment or high net worth clients a plus.
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Initiative-taking with excellent organization skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is an asset.
• Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
• Exceptional people skills
• Friendly and professional demeanor
• Ability to work well with a team and pitch in when needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School diploma required / College diploma preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Occasional, standing, walking, crouching, and lifting to 15 pounds.
• Frequent use of hands and reaching with hands and arms
• Regular talking, hearing, seeing, and sitting.
• Moderate to loud noise level
• Risk of electrical shock

Salary Range: The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and location.
