Candidates for the Controller position must be reliable employees who can multi-task in a fast-paced environment and have proficient organizational skills. The Controller will be responsible for leading many aspects of the company's accounting and financial reporting functions. In addition to managing other members of the accounting team, the Controller will work cross-departmentally to build-out and improve key accounting and financial processes. This position is highly visible within the organization to improve the company’s processes and support business growth. Responsibilities: • Prepare monthly and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles • Oversee month-end close and financial reporting for manufacturing operations • Develop management reporting, identifying key metrics and trend information • Lead the cost accounting function • Monitor and recommend changes to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to meet regulatory compliance and maximize efficiencies • Prepare or oversee preparation of state and local sales and use and cannabis tax filings • Lead the annual budget preparation across all entities • Work closely with accounting firm on audits, reviews, and tax provisions/filings • Prepare technical accounting memorandums regarding proper accounting treatment of transactions Qualifications: • Must be at least 21 years old • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting • CPA preferred • 3 years of public accounting experience with clients in a manufacturing industry • Minimum 2 years as a controller or equivalent of a manufacturing company • Advanced proficiency in cost accounting across all costing methodologies (standard, average, actual, etc.) • Ability to design and operate internal controls and processes that balance effectiveness and efficiency • Ability to interact with and advise all levels of the organization, including presenting to management • Highly self-motivated and self-directed Compensation: $105,000 - $125,000 depending on experience, health, dental and vision benefits are available upon completing 30-days of employment
