    Job Overview

    We are looking for a NOC Engineer to support the Data Center for one of our Federal Customers in Columbia, SC. The primary scope of this includes overseeing data center operations efforts including engineering (designing, developing, installing, configuring, testing, and implementing) various Data Center/LAN task orders involving Cisco network solutions and other Data Center LAN Infrastructure and Aruba systems. Additionally, the candidate will participate in capturing and analyzing technical requirements; documenting detailed system designs, implementation plans, and operations guides of network systems; participate in both project and operational meetings; providing Tier 3 level support utilizing change control processes. The candidate will also serve as a backup to the WLAN/LAN engineering team to support the WLAN and LAN infrastructure projects.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Operations and lifecycle management for physical and virtual data center assets.
    • Ensure network connectivity throughout the Data Center LAN infrastructure
    • Providing Tier 3 level support via change control processes and procedures
    • Participating in both project and steady-state meetings
    • Installing and configuring networking resources such as LAN switches.
    • Participate in the design, development, and implementation of the network infrastructure.
    • Monitors the overall network performance to proactively detect issues.
    • Participate in initial implementation of general data center requirements, addition of new hardware and retirement of equipment.
    • Work with team members to deploy Cisco network equipment for LAN solutions.
    • Create manuals and support documentation.
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to various IT groups.
    • Perform network administration duties.

    Requirements
    • The ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance is needed but INTERIM SECRET CLEARANCE NEEDED TO START
    • Associate degree in computer science or networking; or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA); or 4 years supporting network infrastructure in a complex, multi-site environment
    • Knowledge of Infrastructure design in a data center environment
    • Experience with Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure)
    • Knowledge of multiple IT technologies, hardware, software
    • Experience troubleshooting network performance issues using Solarwinds, DCNM, DNA Center and Cisco Prime.
    • Experience with Local Area Network and data center networks.
    • Understanding of VLANs and IP sub netting.

    Preferred Additional Skills and Qualifications
    • Experience diagramming network designs, layouts, etc. using tools such as Visio.
    • Experience utilizing Cisco IOS-XE and NX-OS commands
    • Proficient knowledge in Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, Windows.
    • Experience utilizing and managing Windows IP/DNS
    • Experience with virtualization technology.
    • Experience working with different types of fiber cabling.
