    Job Description

    Objective:

    This position plans, coordinates and manages the procurement and distribution of materials used in machine maintenance, building maintenance and general supplies supporting manufacturing operations. This includes sourcing of machines, equipment, machine components, consumable supplies, safety supplies and sourced outside services according to acceptable sourcing practices.

    Primary Responsibilities (includes the following, but other duties may be assigned):

    · RFQs: Prepare bid package, distribute to suppliers, analyze bids and create sourcing summary where appropriate. Bid analysis to include commercial and non-commercial data (Incoterms, payment terms, lead times, availability, etc.).

    · Supplier selection: Make sourcing decisions and recommendations based on “total delivered cost” and alignment with regional and global commodity strategies. Incorporate input from Operations, team members to build consensus in sourcing decisions.

    · PO’s/ Contracts: Issue blanket and spot buy purchase orders, and support purchasing contract development in the ERP system.

    · Data & Reporting: (1) Complete weekly and monthly reports (MPPV) on supplier performance, (2) collect quality and delivery metrics from Operations, (3) maintain supplier contact and sub-commodity databases and (4) enter pricing and volume in budget tool.

    · Operational Support: Provide tactical support to Operations, Supplier Quality Engineering and suppliers to resolve quality and delivery issues.

    · Defective goods/services: Discuss unacceptable product with users, suppliers and other stakeholders to determine necessary corrective action.

    · Invoice Reconciliation: Work with suppliers, Operations and Accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies.

    · Supplier Visits: Monitor suppliers via formal visits with pre-defined agendas; complete trip reports as required.

    · Commodity Strategy: Support Commodity Manager with data collection and analysis to develop mid-term and long-term regional strategies.

    · “Lean”: Facilitate lean initiatives and cost-reduction activities at suppliers.

    · Other duties as assigned by management

    · Be self-motivated and proactive with an inquisitive mind.

    · Able to work in a dynamic, growing international group with processes, procedures and systems not completely defined and not uniform across all sites.
