Job Title: Pharmacist

Role Summary
Staff Pharmacist position prepares, dispenses, and sells prescriptions and other pharmacy related products. The staff pharmacist is responsible for the operation of the pharmacy, including all state and federal regulations governing the pharmacy. The staff pharmacist also provides radically inclusive, culturally responsive patient-centered care and manages pharmacy staff.
Role Responsibilities (including but limited to)
- Operating PioneerRx pharmacy system
- Ordering medications through contracted manufacture (managing buying generics vs. brand names) and being fiscally responsible in ordering medications for patients we have prescriptions and not in anticipation of requests.
- Markets Pharmacy services and provides education to patients on 340B program.
- Complying with all applicable laws and regulations
- Preparing, dispensing, and selling prescriptions and pharmacy-related products
- Managing personnel and their performance as directed including but not limited to technicians, interns, and students.
- Providing counseling, consultations, education, and excellent customer service to patients.
- Consulting with physicians and nurses regarding pharmaceutical questions
- Monitoring inventory levels and the storage, distribution, and use of pharmaceuticals.
- Submitting appropriate claims for third-party reimbursement
- Maintaining records of all transactions as required by applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
- Documenting and reporting medication errors
- Complying with all federal and state laws applicable to confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and electronic protected health information (EPHI); and understanding and following HIPAA guidelines.
- Administering pharmacist approved immunizations/Vaccines and updating vaccination schedules from the CDC.
- Properly securing and maintaining controlled substances and complying with legal requirements for pseudoephedrine sales.
- Properly disposing of hazardous waste drugs
- Complying with Medicare Durable Medical Equipment guidelines
- Overseeing return to stock processing and following recall procedures
- Complying with Continuing Medical Education (CME) Fraud, Waste, and Abuse
- Conduct POC tests (blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol)
- Offer/conduct MTM services to patients with chronic disease states.
- Promote Medicare Part D open enrollment and review Medicare Part D plans with patients.
- Administrate off-site immunization clinics for flu, pneumonia, COVID, etc.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and positive work environment.
- Act as lead person on developing and executing collaborative agreements with physicians, dentists, and other healthcare providers that prescribe medications.
- Work with the CEO to initiate community partnerships.
Qualifications
- Pharm.D. or BS Pharmacy Degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of state pharmacy board examination.
- Pharmacist license current and in good standing with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
- 3-5 years’ experience in the practice of pharmacy; 2-3 years’ experience in pharmacy management preferred.
- Immunization Certification through an accredited organization
- Not on the Officer of Inspector General Excluded Parties List
- No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.

- Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding pharmacy
- Bilingual skill a plus
