About the Position
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Licensed Preschool Teacher to join our team in New York City. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young children’s lives in a supportive, nurturing environment.
Required Qualifications
Education & Certification:
Option 1:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field of study
Valid New York State Teaching Certificate (Birth–Grade 2)
Option 2: Study Plan
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field of study
One year of supervised and documented experience
Enrollment in an approved study plan leading to NY State certification
Additional Requirements:
Must be at least 19 years of age
Completion of criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance
Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR) screening
Related Fields of Study Include:
Early Childhood Education
Child Development
Elementary Education
Students with Disabilities ( birth to 2nd grade or 1st grade to 6th grade)
General Education (12 credits in Early Childhood Ed.)
Special Education (12 credits in Early Childhood Ed.)
Child Psychology ( 12 credits in Early Childhood Ed.)
Other fields as approved by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Bureau of Child Care
Responsibilities
Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool-aged children
Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
Assess and document children’s developmental progress
Communicate effectively with families and staff
Maintain compliance with all NYC Bureau of Child Care regulations
