    Job Description

The NRSC (National Republican Senatorial Committee) is recruiting college students and recent graduates interested in politics to intern in the Communications department. Following an exciting and historic 2018 election cycle in which Republicans retained control of the Senate majority, the NRSC is seeking interns who are eager to contribute to the start of the 2020 election cycle and ultimately help Republicans continue to retain majority in the U.S. Senate.

The NRSC communications internship is fast-paced and offers a hands-on experience in media monitoring and rapid response procedures. Interns will help clip and transcribe televised news segments, peruse news articles, and format press releases.

Preferable applicants are college students who are studying political science, communications, journalism, or other relevant subjects and have experience in a political office or on a campaign. However, all majors are accepted and encouraged to apply.

While interns work primarily with the communications team, they will be exposed to other key components of the committee including finance and fundraising, events, political strategy, messaging, research, and digital media. All interns fill in at the front desk on occasion and manage the front lobby, answer the mainline phone, sign in visitors, and assist appointments.

All NRSC internships offered are are unpaid. Internships for school credit may be accommodated.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, so please specify the internship term (spring or summer) in your cover letter.
