    Job Summary

    As the Procurement Specialist you will oversee the ordering of materials. The Procurement Specialist will analyze costs, negotiate purchase details, and offer strategies and solutions to help the organization better manage costs on supplies and vendor services. Additional duties include managing inventory, tracking orders, resolving issues concerning price disputes, and making bids for a vendor’s services.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop equipment and service quotes for the business units
    • Coordinate supply issues with onsite project managers
    • Interface with Procurement colleagues for the purchase of customer hardware and services
    • Submit properly documented change orders as approved by customers and project managers
    • Update and maintain vendor price lists utilized in quoting and procurement; this involves multiple vendors, a variety of technical products/services and complex pricing structures
    • Work to ensure that policies and procedures are updated regularly, consistent with applicable law and procurement best practices
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Experience with ERP systems, and Oracle NetSuite specifically, desired
    • Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
    • Good interpersonal skills and verbal communications skills
    • Excellent organization skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks and deliver results within critical deadlines
    • Ability to interact in a positive manner with internal and external customers
    • Researches and analyzes methods of acquiring goods and services to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the procurement process
    • Makes recommendations to users and management utilizing market analysis reporting tools
    • Designs and generates transaction and supplier reports for use by procurement, management, and end users such as project managers and Member executives
    • Experience in designing procurement reports, and the ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience
    • Two (2) years procurement experience, specifically in equipment order processing and/or project management experience
    • Telecom/electric utility industry experience desirable

    Physical Demands

    • Some travel required up to 5%
    • Work is to be done in a remote or office setting
