    Title : Registered Respiratory Therapist

    Facility : Acute Care (Hospital)

    Shifts : 36 hour nights **

    Responsibilities but not limited to the following :

    • Follow protocols approved by the medical staff and department policy and procedures in order to provide timely diagnostic and therapeutic services to both inpatients and outpatients.
    • Provide diagnostic and therapeutic treatment and physician assistance.
    • Delivery of medicated aerosols via medical compressed gas, maintaining airways, ventilator management, insertion of arterial lines, intubations
    • Pulmonary function studies, cardiac and pulmonary stress tests, and blood gases
    • Perform and document evaluation and patient assessment which correlates to the patient diagnosis
    • Identify significant changes in patient's condition and takes appropriate action, as evidenced in reporting, staffing and documentation.
    • Review medical records and care plans and modifies the plan of care based on patient's progress.
    • Provide appropriate patient education, family teaching and support which correlate to the patient and family needs.
    • Disassemble, clean, assemble respiratory equipment and perform preventative maintenance according to standard operating procedure.
    • Properly tag equipment in need of preventative maintenance, safety check or repair and notified appropriate department and/or delivers equipment to them.

    Qualifications :

    • Active Applicable State Licensure
    • American Heart Association issued BLS, PALS
