Job Summary
The Pain Management Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with acute and chronic pain. This role includes clinical assessments, medication management, development of individualized treatment plans, and collaboration with multidisciplinary providers to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered care. The position is part‑time (3 days per week) and requires travel between both clinic locations in Ocala and The Villages.
Compensation for this position is $70,000 a year. There is also an incentive plan.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including history, physical exam, and review of diagnostic findings
Develop, implement, and adjust individualized pain management treatment plans
Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, in compliance with state and federal regulations
Manage chronic pain medication regimens and conduct risk assessments and urine drug screenings when indicated
Monitor patient safety, progress, and response to therapy, adjusting treatment plans as needed
Educate patients on pain conditions, medications, and lifestyle recommendations
Collaborate with physicians, medical assistants, behavioral health professionals, and allied health staff
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic health record
Follow clinic protocols, payer requirements, regulatory guidelines, and quality standards
Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and uphold ethical, professional standards of care
Qualifications
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN/DNP) from an accredited NP program
Current Unencumbered Florida Nurse Practitioner license
Active DEA registration, including authority for controlled substances
Experience in pain management, primary care, orthopedics, or related field preferred
Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient‑care skills
Experience with trigger point injections (preferred but not required)
Experience with intra‑articular (joint) injections (preferred but not required)
