    Job Description

    NVE is looking for a Security Administrator/Technician for a Federal Agency and related facilities southwest of Washington, DC. This includes the headquarters complex, a child development center, guard houses, a recreation building, parking garage, and various warehouse facilities within a 25-mile radius of the complex for just under one million square feet of space.

    Candidate shall be certified by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers or another federally approved Electronic Security System (ESS) course and have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience (within the past 7 years) as a Security Administrator/Technician. Experience shall include the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of ESS systems, and its components covered under the contract.

    The Security Administrator/Technician shall have five years (5) experience in the operation of a large building’s security system; knowledge, capabilities, and practices associated with analyzing facilities and designing or constructing security system; knowledge of CCTV systems, intrusion detection systems, card-key access systems; ability to interpret facility needs and develop riser diagrams and equipment details; knowledgeable of principles and theories of security engineering design, installation and commissioning practices, including current codes, industry related practices and government regulations and policy requirements.

    The Security Administrator/Technician shall be available on-site from 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday-Friday and at any other times required to effectively manage all contract work.

    Security Administrator/Technician responsibilities will include:

    1.     Operational authority over the ESS

    2.     Authority to act on behalf of Project Manager on all matters relating to ESS

    3.     Attends security related meetings, provides necessary reporting, and keeps track of all security related issues.

    4.     Operation of a large building/complex security system.

    5.     Support installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of ESS. 

    Resume must show the following:

    1.     Detailed description of prior ten (10) years of employment.

    2.      Names and addresses of the companies worked for during the last ten (10) years, with names and phone numbers of immediate supervisors.

    3.     Copies of current licenses and certificates required for performance under contract. Copies of pertinent training certificates for last ten (10) years.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    1.     Knowledgeable of principles and theories of security engineering design, installation and commissioning practices.

    2.     Ability to interpret facility needs and develop riser diagrams and equipment details

    3.     Experience operating and maintaining ESS for large building/complex.

    4.     Certification in federally approved ESS course. Bachelor’s degree highly desired.

    5.     Microsoft Office skills required (Word, Excel, Outlook, internet, etc.).

    6.     Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills

    7.     Strong planning, organizing and controlling skills

    8.     An existing Secret Clearance Desired
