Job Description
The Chief Facility Engineer (CFE) shall be responsible for the overall management and operation of the mechanical, life safety, electrical and plumbing operations of DISA and associated facilities and grounds. The CFE shall be physically on-site a minimum of 8 hours per day within normal Government business hours (7 AM – 4 PM).
THE CFE MUST BE A LICENSED AND REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND and possess a minimum of 5 years of direct experience as a CFE in facilities similar to the size, scope and complexity of the DISA HQ and its associated grounds (around 1M SF headquarters facility with Central Plant and a combination of office space, meeting/training spaces, and laboratory/research spaces).
The CFE must also possess experience in:
1. Monitoring and implementing energy conservation measures
2. Building management systems, including CMMS, BAS and fire protection systems
3. Department of Defense, Maryland, and Anne Arundel regulations, codes, standards, etc.
4. Operating and repairing all sizes of chillers, boilers, pumps, motors, air handlers, HVAC units, and UPS systems
