Estimator – Structural Steel
(Remote - Must live in Utah, preferably in Salt Lake City)

As the Structural Steel Estimator, you will play a key role in our estimating department, responsible for accurately estimating projects in the $100k—$200k range across multiple commercial construction projects. This role requires handling a high volume of projects simultaneously, typically around 10-15 jobs plus revision work.
Estimator Responsibilities:
- Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for structural steel components.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to understand requirements and develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to perform take-offs, calculate material quantities, and assess labor and equipment costs.
- Prepare detailed and well-organized bid proposals, including breakdowns of costs, schedules, and project timelines.
- Participate in bid review meetings and negotiations with clients to address any questions or concerns related to the estimates.
- Maintain accurate estimates, bids, and project documentation records for reference and future analysis.
Estimator Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred but not required).
- Proven experience as a Structural Steel Estimator in commercial construction projects.
- Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings and specifications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately assess project requirements and costs.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Compensation: $100,000 - $110,000 (DOE) + bonus (5-10%) based on company profitability
