Purchasing Agent

Work for a company that provides comprehensive solutions for Food Safety, Cleaning, Sanitation, and Water and Wastewater Treatment needs. Based in Lynnwood, WA, they develop, manufacture, and market cleaning, sanitation, and water treatment chemicals for food processors and industrial plants. They are looking for a Purchasing Agent who will acquire raw materials and resources, oversee vendor connections, and enhance procedures related to both initial and finalized inventory management.
Purchasing Agent Responsibilities:
- Identifying and assessing potential suppliers and products.
- Building and nurturing positive supplier relationships.
- Efficient procurement of quality raw materials at competitive prices.
- Negotiating competitive pricing with existing and potential suppliers.
- Researching and comparing product prices.
- Updating management on price changes through reports.
- Monitoring raw material inventory.
- Coordinating with production for material planning.
- Generating purchase orders and receiving supplies.
- Managing logistics for timely deliveries.
- Streamlining purchasing processes for various categories.
- Chemicals, equipment, and supplies procurement.
- Ensuring accurate records in the ERP system.
- Communicating cost changes to relevant parties.
- Maintaining accurate product and supplier information.
- Ensuring compliance and improvement within ISO 9001 processes.
- Enhancing control over raw and finished material inventory.
- Overseeing physical and digital inventory management.
- Introducing new inventory control procedures.
- Implementing MRP in ERP system.
- Maintaining up-to-date supplier and product documentation.
Purchasing Agent Qualifications:
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role.
- Must have experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Must have experience with a company with revenue of $100M or less.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to secure competitive pricing.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 processes is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
