    Want to join a well-regarded, thriving real estate development firm? Our client, a local residential developer and home builder, is looking for a Purchasing Agent to add to their team! In this position, you will be responsible for assessing and engaging in negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers. If you’re looking for a new opportunity in construction with plenty of growth potential, then this may be the right role for you!

    Purchasing Agent Responsibilities:

    • Establish and nurture relationships with local trade partners.
    • Solicit bids for upcoming projects and negotiate costs with new and existing trade partners.
    • Analyze plans, specifications, and proposals to prepare estimates for time, cost, materials, and labor.
    • Manage community documents, including construction specifications, options, award packages, and supplier lists.
    • Set up and maintain budgets, perform quantity take-offs, and prepare detailed estimates based on drawings and specifications.
    • Interpret architectural drawings to determine project requirements.
    • Maintain computer databases for pricing, estimates, and items.
    • Provide support to the construction field team by addressing inquiries from suppliers, subcontractors, and the field team.
    • Generate reports to track and analyze data.
    • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to enhance customer service and contribute to company goodwill and profitability.
    • Ensure regular and reliable attendance.

    Purchasing Agent Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree or at least 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Proficient in reading, interpreting safety rules, manuals, and instructions. Can write reports, speak effectively in group settings.
    • Strong numerical skills, including calculations of discounts, interest, proportions, and application of basic algebra and geometry concepts.
    • Skilled in solving practical problems with limited standardization, interpreting instructions in various forms.
    • Familiarity with estimating software, specifically Blue Beam.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Capable of meeting multiple deadlines with attention to detail.

    Compensation: $65-$75k/yr. DOE + bonus
