Project Manager – Private Commercial, Heavy Civil Construction

Our client is a local, privately-owned full service civil contractor specializing in earthwork and site utility installation primarily in the private commercial market. They are seeking a motivated and talented Project Manager to join their team.
The Project Manager is a key component to the success of the firm, having the opportunity to make a significant impact on the profitability of each fiscal year. Customer satisfaction and meeting deadlines and budget constraints are essential.
As a Project Manager, you will have a broad scope of work that includes estimating and often taking projects “from cradle to grave.” The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle a large volume of work with tight deadlines.
Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate consistently positive interaction with clients, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Effectively schedule preconstruction and construction activities.
- Effectively develop and track budgets.
- Demonstrate strong planning skills.
- Review contracts, specifications and drawings to determine and manage scope of work.
- Assist with ensuring that materials for construction are on site as needed.
- Coordinate with Superintendent and Foremen to meet project deadlines.
- Coordinate with the billing department to timely submit COR’s, CO’s and invoices.
- Source and secure new business opportunities through establishing initial contact and sustaining long-term relationships.
- Foster outstanding customer service and positive client relationships.
- Subcontractor bid reviews and validation of work scopes.
- Material takeoffs on drawings and plans.
Project Manager Profile:
- 3+ years of experience in civil or commercial construction as a PE, APM, or PM.
- Construction Management Degree or equivalent a plus but not required.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret contracts, plans and technical reports.
- Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
- Prior exposure to estimating software.

Compensation: $115,000 - $145,000 + bonuses and benefits
