Lovely New York City family seeks a nanny to care for their four wonderful children: 7, 10, 13, and 15, during the school year on the Upper East Side and on Martha's Vineyard during July and August. This is a Monday-Friday role during the school year, the nanny's day will begin around 2pm - never exceeding 8 hours a day. This dynamic role will require you to engage in various activities, provide transportation, and maintain a warm and nurturing environment for the children. Your responsibilities include supporting their growth, well-being, and ensuring a seamless household routine; the nanny is rarely, if ever, left with all four children, typically two at the most, with care focused on the youngest. You will work in tandem with a very hands-on housekeeper. The ideal candidate is easy-going, energetic, communicative, incredibly organized and efficient. Must have a driver’s license (car provided,) be comfortable with homework help and meal prep for children.
Responsibilities
• Provide care and supervision to the children, ensuring their safety and well-being
• Assist with daily routines, including meal preparation and cooking for the kids (a plus)
• Organize and manage activities, playdates, and transportation to sports events, parties, and other engagements
• Maintain a clean and organized household by performing light housekeeping duties in children's areas and common spaces
• Coordinate and handle laundry needs for the kids; assist with packing and unpacking
• Be available for occasional travel (2-3 times a year) for long weekends, with a valid passport
• Exhibit an easy-going, calm energy to create a nurturing atmosphere for the children
• Drive kids to various activities and events (car provided), requiring a valid driver's license
Requirements
• Strong command of English language; superior communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
• Minimum 3 years related experience working in a similar role for a private home or family
• Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities; above and beyond attitude
• Flexibility in scheduling; willingness to be flexible as the situation requires
• Experience working in fast-paced environments - the utmost discretion and confidentiality are required
• Able to work both independently and as part of a domestic team
• Valid driver's license and comfort with driving (car provided)
• Cooking skills for preparing meals for children (a plus)
• Willingness to assist with laundry and light housekeeping in kids' and common areas
• Availability for occasional travel (2-3 times a year) with a valid PASSPORT
• Easy-going, patient, and calm demeanor to create a warm and nurturing environment
• A strong sense of responsibility and reliability
• Ability to manage busy weekends, shuttling children to activities, parties, and games
