    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Social Worker - Family Support Center - Monday-Friday:9a-5p - Bilingual Proficiency in Spanish Requi.

    We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to join the Strengthening Community Mental Wellness (SCMW) initiative. SCMW aims to strengthen the behavioral health system of care in Sunset Park and Flatbush, Brooklyn by enhancing preventive services in the community and in the maternal, infant, and child behavioral health system of care. This innovative initiative, funded by the Robin Hood Foundation, is a collaborative effort between the Family Health Centers at NYU Langone and Together Growing Strong (TGS), an NYU Grossman School of Medicine initiative that aims to strengthen early childhood health and wellbeing by supporting families, providers, and educators in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

    Job Responsibilities:

    The social worker will support and enhance participants mental health and wellbeing during their pregnancy and postpartum periods. The social worker will contribute to the well-being and success of participants primarily by recruiting participants, delivering evidence-informed interventions and facilitating group sessions, conducting assessments, providing case management, and supporting research efforts to evaluate program efficacy. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on the standard of care and patient experience for women and their families. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of parents and their children, creating a healthier future for all.
    Prior to beginning initial patient contact for this initiative, the social worker will receive training on the interventions being provided (e.g., postpartum depression prevention, new parent support), and will have ample opportunity to discuss and refine them with the Program Development and Evaluation team that will be working on this project .

    * Recruit and enroll parents/caregivers into the SCMW initiative.
    * Manage and deliver group and individual interventions in virtual and in-person settings, including Reach Out Stay Strong- Essentials for new mothers (ROSE), Bonded By Baby, parenting interventions and additional perinatal mental health and wellbeing interventions.
    * In collaboration with community health workers and clinical team, provide case management, crisis intervention, and referrals to appropriate services for program participants as needed.
    * Conduct psychosocial assessments with program participants using standardized questionnaires.
    * Establish and maintain partnerships with internal stakeholders at the Family Health Centers and external community-based organizations. 
    * Maintain detailed, accurate, and confidential documentation of group meetings, and participant interactions and assessments.
    * Complete surveys and maintain spreadsheets to monitor program efficacy.
    * Assist with program reporting, evaluation and Continuous Quality Improvement efforts.
    * Facilitate a work environment that promotes wellness, collaboration and professional growth.
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a New York State Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license.
    Master's degree in Social Work
    Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
    Strong interest in women and infant health issues.
    Prior experience in child development work and parent education.
    Some experience with mental health counseling.
    Prior experience facilitating group sessions.
    Passion for and experience working with individuals from communities affected by racism and other forms of oppression.
    Excellent organizational and time management skills, including administrative practices and attention to detail.
    Growth mindset and willingness to learn new skills beyond the traditional scope of training.
    Familiarity with electronic health records and databases..

    Required Licenses: Lic Master Social Worker

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-focused approach.
    Excellent assessment skills.

    Knowledge and experience in strength-based and family centered provision of primary prevention services.
    Prior experience with research
    Prior experience working with low-income populations.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $73,891.92 - $95,256.57 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
