    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Director, Nursing Administration & Operations- NYU Langone Hospital- Brooklyn.

    In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for the oversight of nursing division planning, budget and staffing functions to ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet patient care needs resulting in high quality patient care and patient outcomes. Collaborates with nursing and clinical leadership to proactively understand staffing needs based on operational requirements and changing patient needs. Ensures accurate data capture and reporting to demonstrate staffing activeness and inform the annual budget process.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Responsible for the daily operations of the Nursing Staffing Office, NMASS team and the nursing float teams to ensure all functions related to daily staffing are planned and executed accurately. Duties include:
    
    * Aligning processes across units to assure adequate staffing across similar units
    
    * Assessing daily, week, and monthly staffing plans to identify gaps or vulnerabilities and quickly identifying strategies to alleviate the risk
    
    * Forecasting staffing levels for each quarter based on current staffing, new recruits, new staff coming off of orientation, and average turnover to identify gaps or vulnerabilities
    
    * Under the direction of the EVP/CHO and SVP/CNO and clinical experts, develop staffing models and training schedules for nursing for new or expanding services in Brooklyn 
    
    * Oversees in-depth monthly analysis of personnel allocation, salary expenses to include utilization of various staffing strategies to meet patient care needs and inform the annual budget preparation in coordination with finance, nursing directors and nurse managers.
    
    * Monitors, evaluates and adjusts budgetary needs to ensure cost containment and appropriate allocation of resources. Collaborates with Finance Department to ensure alignment of ongoing nursing FTE budgets. 
    
    * In collaboration with Finance and nursing leadership, facilitates ds regularly scheduled budget meetings. Participates in intra-departmental and interdepartmental committee meetings to foster integration and communication. Ensures a cooperative collaborative relationship with nursing leadership, administration and others in planning, directing and resourcing patient care.
    
    * Chairs the Clinical Staffing Committee to ensure alignment with the applicable regulatory requirements and current CBAs. 
    
    * Participates in the assessment of the organization s informational needs related to nursing operations. Utilizes management reports to support decision making, planning and evaluation related to operations and clinical outcomes.
    
    * Participates in establishment, evaluation, and revision of the patient care models, nursing staffing and floating guidelines.
    
    * Performs other duties as assigned
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) plus Masters degree in nursing, healthcare administration (nursing), Public Administration (MPA) OR Business Administration (MBA). A minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in inpatient, with a proven track record of effective nursing operations management Experience in an academic medical center environment is highly desirable. Patient-centered care visionary who is also a strong facilitator, implementer and negotiator. and to clearly communicate the data and passionately engage staff in designing solutions to sub-optimal data points. Thoughtful and analytical while also being outgoing, engaging and motivating while using data to clearly communicate outcomes and or need for change. Undeterred by challenges and barriers to change, as well as persistent and undaunted by resistance; collaborative, transparent, approachable and passionate about the goal at hand. Must be results-oriented, with the ability to not only set goals but also design, implement and monitor plans for improvement. Demonstrates political and organizational savvy; understands when to seek counsel and to involve others. Outstanding leadership and interpersonal/relationship skills, with the drive and initiative required to implement change at the strategic and operational levels. Must be able to develop strong relationships at all levels with internal colleagues..

    Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $162,921.41 - $210,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
