    Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation. It includes eight primary care sites, 40 school-based health centers and dental clinics, four day care centers, the nation's largest dental residency program, and New York State's largest behavioral health program.     Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Part-Time Activities Assistant - Brooklyn.

    In this role, the successful candidate The Activities Assistant is responsible for providing activities for older adults at a Neighborhood Senior Center funded by the NYC Department for the Aging (DFTA). Under the direction of the Program Director, the Activities Assistant plans, organizes, and leads appropriate group social and recreational activities in accordance with DFTA standards.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Plan, organize, and lead daily activities onsite at the Senior Center.
    * Other duties as needed.
    * Assist Program Director with recruitment of volunteers, and serve as a resource and liaison for volunteer-led activities.
    * Follow safety and emergency procedures during onsite activities and on trips.
    * Document all participation in activities according to DFTA standards.
    * Encourage participation from all Senior Center members, and modify activities to fit the needs of the population.
    * Work closely with Program Director in developing monthly calendar of activities.
    * Plan and execute special events and parties to celebrate holidays, birthdays, and other special themes.
    * Plan, organize, and lead occasional trips to special offsite events or places of interest to Senior Center members.
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a High School degree or equivalent
    Experience in providing recreational activities

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience working with older adults
    Experience working with groups

    Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $25.70 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
