    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Administrative Fellow - Brooklyn.

    In this role, the successful candidate The Administrative Fellows are members of the Hospital Operations team and work directly with senior-level administrators. The program is structured to provide the Fellows with experience in all aspects of the management of an academic medical center and to develop their leadership and management skills. The Fellows also rotate on-call responsibilities with the administrators.

    Job Responsibilities:

    NYU Langone Health’s Administrative Fellowship is a one-year, full-time, salaried program with the potential opportunity for a second year.

    The Fellowship offers on-the-job training in the skills and responsibilities required of a hospital administrator in a major academic medical center. As a Fellow, you will be placed at the very center of NYU Langone Health’s hospital operations and work alongside the institution’s leaders and innovators. A feature that distinguishes our program is that Fellows can tailor and define their experiences through the variety of projects that they work on during their time with NYU Langone.

    As part of this program, you will learn by assuming increasing levels of responsibility and become involved with a broad range of operational issues, personnel, and processes, while being precepted by senior-level administrators. The Administrative Fellowship is project-based in nature. Activities may include, but are not limited to:

      * Administrator on-call duties
      * Compliance and regulatory assessment
      * Financial decisions and budget review
      * Operational processes and workflow analysis
      * Policy evaluation and procedure development
      * Program design and implementation
      * Project management
      * Data analysis and outcomes monitoring
    

    During the first months of the Fellowship, Fellows will meet with their respective campus leaders as well as the Health System’s Senior Leadership to become oriented to hospital operations as well as the function and structure of the organization. Fellows then become fully immersed in projects and can work on hospital-wide initiatives as well as projects at the unit/department level. In addition, you will have the flexibility to seek out projects in personal areas of interest. Examples of recent projects include:

    * Coordinating the opening of new outpatient surgery facilities
    * Reducing boarding time in emergency department
    * Reducing sepsis rates in critical care units
    * Supporting the opening, closing, and conversion of patient care units during the COVID pandemic
    * Implementing High Reliability processes on patient care units
    * Coordinating change management within ancillary services
    * Developing business cases and P&L for a new ambulatory center
    * Leading staffing gap analysis for perioperative and acute care services
    

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • To qualify you must have a MHA or equivalent from an accredited graduate program in healthcare administration.
    • Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $54,483.52 - $72,800.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
