    Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation. It includes eight primary care sites, 40 school-based health centers and dental clinics, four day care centers, the nation's largest dental residency program, and New York State's largest behavioral health program.     POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Coordinator - Brooklyn. In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for providing moderate to advanced range of coordination of research studies conducted at the Family Health Centers at NYU Langone and affiliated sites. Assist with research recruitment, enrollment, grant submissions, research data collection, and study coordination activities. Support Program Manager and Director of Research, and serves as liaison with internal and external funding agencies, research faculty and staff, residents, and other departments as required. Ensure the accurate execution of research in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA and all required obligations to patient/subject, Principal Investigator, research team, and sponsor when applicable. Interface directly with patients/subjects and Principal Investigator in support of all research efforts as applicable. Assist in the activation and management of research studies. Works under general direction of Program Manager.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversee the submission of research projects as appropriate in order to obtain approval to conduct human subjects research
    • Assists Program Manager in any audits as required
    • Screens potential patients/subjects for research participant eligibility.
    • Reviews all the elements of the screening process with the Principal Investigator including: inclusion/exclusion criteria, completed informed consent, and documentation as required
    • Assist with the informed consent process and ensure that the patient/subject comprehension of the research. Ensures subject compliance in the form of correspondence and office visits as applicable
    • Resolves complex situations and refers non solved issues and questions with recommendation to supervisor
    • Develops research databases for projects as required
    • May complete assessments on study subjects/patients following protocol (with proper training)
    • Reports research non-compliance to Program Manager and submits any deviations/violations to the institutional review board as required
    • Responsible for collecting and auditing patient information for research project(s). This may include abstraction of data from patient charts (e.g., laboratory or diagnostic test results, surgical/radiation treatments delivered, adverse drug reactions, etc); abstraction of data for publications, or data collection from outside physicians offices.
    • Enters research data into study specific databases as required
    • Assist in the informed consent process and ensure that the patient/subject comprehension of the research. Ensures subject compliance in the form of correspondence and office visits if applicable
    • Track Study regulatory status and maintain a copy of regulatory documents

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related field.
    • Minimum of two years of progressively responsible project coordination experience, preferably in an academic research setting.
    • Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
    • Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external departments and organizations.
    • Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize work volume; identify, analyze, and solve problems; work well under Pressure.
    • Willingness to complete training and receive certification to perform EKG and phlebotomy if required
