    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager-Anatomic Pathology Digital Operations.

    The Digital Pathology Operations Manager oversees and maintains responsibility for developing, implementing, and maintaining operations for all Digital Pathology Operations at all NYU Langone Anatomic Pathology Laboratory Locations. Reports to Director of Operations, Anatomic Pathology at the Main Campus with dotted line reporting to the Assistant Director, Anatomic Pathology at Long Island. Works in conjunction with Medical Director of Anatomic Pathology, Medical Director of Digital Pathology, other site pathologists, laboratory managers, and Digital Pathology Quality Manager to oversee digital pathology workflow.

    Job Responsibilities:

    1. Directly manages and supervises Digital Pathology Coordinators, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization and division policies and procedures.
    2. Staff Development, Evaluation, Counseling and Personnel related activities: Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring perspective employees, planning, assigning and directing work, evaluating and documenting staff performance; recognizing and rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Monitors staff workload and productivity. Recognizes and identifies staff needs and develops programs to meet needs. Participates in staff retention and recruitment activities. Provides staff in-service/training as required. Conducts annual performance and competency reviews and maintains employee files. Offers guidance and provides resources for improving performance standards. Ensures staff compliance with all required annual training. 
    3. Partner with leadership in the department to ensure communication and strategy are rolled out successfully and maintained across the system. Works collaboratively with MCIT and Phillips to ensure operations are developed and maintained. Champions change management activity across the system laboratories. 
    4. Works directly with Pathologists for all digital pathology related activities including training, routine workflow, troubleshooting and implementing corrective actions and process improvements. 
    5. Develops and maintains validation plans and ensures quality control process are integrated as per CAP guidelines. 
    6. Implements and executes training, competency assessment, and process improvement plans for the Digital Pathology Coordinator team and all relevant digital pathology activities.
    7. Works closely with Phillips in developing and maintaining the digital pathology operation at all pathology sites. 
    8. Oversees maintenance and inventory of supplies, reagents and other materials relevant to Digital pathology. Oversees equipment maintenance and service.
    9. Responsible for establishing a process to routinely monitor compliance with all regulatory agencies including (CAP, DOH, OSHA, EPA, FDNY, and Joint Commission.) Responsible for ensuring all deficiencies and recommendations have the appropriate plan of correction implemented and sustained. 
    10. Responsible for ensuring all labs are enrolled with the appropriate Proficiency Testing Programs and educational activities on an annual basis. Works with staff, managers, and pathologists to maintain inspection-ready laboratories, ensure ongoing regulatory compliance and continuous improvement. System-wide campus coordination required.
    11. Works collaboratively with OSR to ensure integration of Digital Pathology workflow is developed and maintained. 
    12. Other Digital Pathology related duties as needed.
    

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in the major of biology, chemistry, or physical sciences from an accredited college or university.
    • 5 years experience working in an anatomic pathology laboratory and strong supervisory or managerial experience.
    • Excellent computer, Microsoft Office (Excel) and project presentation skills.
    • Working knowledge of improvement methodology.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    5+ years of experience. Master's Degree, CPHQ/CPPS, Lean, Six Sigma certification.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $112,951.35 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
