    POSITION SUMMARY:

    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Scientific Programmer.

    The Fenyo lab seeks a software programmer and engineer who will implement new algorithms for analyzing and integrating large multi-omic data sets from studies of cancer, metabolic disease, pain, aging, environmental influences, and forensics. Teaching programming to biomedical researchers, and writing related technical reports and publications, are also important parts of the responsibilities.

     

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Develop and modify moderately complex software and demonstrations
    • Document for all software, code and experiments
    • Ensure the integrity and security of data and code
    • Setup and run computational experiments to execute algorithms on various types of biomedical data
    • Provide technical assistance to users
    • Teach programming to biomedical researchers

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    To qualify you must have a

     

     

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Math/Statistics/Physics/Bioinformatics or related technical discipline.
    • Knowledge of algorithms and data-structures.
    • Ability to work independently (e.g., find papers relevant to the subject, assess methods, implement methods, and apply them to datasets to reproduce results).

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Basic understanding of key machine learning and statistical methods
