Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a CPE Certified Educator (ACPE certified).
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and conducting Clinical Pastoral Education/CPE programs according to Association for Clinical Pastoral Education standards.
Job Responsibilities:
* Manage the planning and administration of the CPE training program, including advertising and recruitment of students.
* Respect and protect student’s rights to have a quality CPE center and to have excellent supervision.
* Develop and maintain proper administration procedures for the department in accordance with institutional policy.
* Work in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders to grow and expand the current CPE program.
* Promote an interdisciplinary approach to spiritual care.
* Design the curriculum for student-centered learning, and in accordance with ACPE standards.
* Collaborate with leadership and staff of the Spiritual Care Department to integrate the students.
* Conduct timely admissions interviews, communicate admission decisions, and handle application materials in a professional manner.
* Assign, review, and comment on students’ written materials in a timely manner.
* Evaluate students’ personal and professional functioning, write evaluations in accordance with ACPE standards, and complete ACPE registration forms for students who complete their program.
* In consultation with the chair, facilitate and attend meetings of Pastoral Care and Education Advisory Committee to inform members of the educational activities and receive advice about maintaining standards of excellence in the CPE program.
* Manage the program’s accreditation with ACPE.
* Collaborate with the Manager of Spiritual Care and Senior Director of Patient Experience or other designated administrator to participate in other spiritual care programs as assigned.
* Participate in team meeting and rounds.
* Participate in regular professional development activities and supervision.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Masters Degree in Theology (or equivalent masters level degree from accredited seminary/graduate school); successful completion of 4 units of ACPE accredited Clinical Pastoral Education; 3-5 years full-time experience in a healthcare setting; APC, NACC, NAJC board certification eligible. You must also must be certified as a Certified Educator by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education and remain in good standing with that organization.
Required License, Registration, Certification: Certification as a Certified Educator by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Board Certification through the Association of Professional Chaplains, National Association of Catholic Chaplains or National Association of Jewish Chaplains. Experience providing spiritual care to patients, families and staff in a healthcare setting. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, and have computer/technological literacy including but not limited to use of mobile phone apps, paging and computer systems for electronic mail, electronic medical records documentation and learning management software.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $85,000 - $90,000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
