    POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate Editor. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of strategic print and digital content across all channels, and for the distribution of print and digital content to all audiences, including patients, physicians, students and employees. Reporting to the Director of Publications, the incumbent will help create and distribute compelling content across a diverse portfolio of publications, including NYU Langone Health Magazine and NYU Langone Health News, and align these efforts with NYU Langone Healths global mission and vision to be a world-class, patient-centered, integrated academic medical center.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversee the distribution of print and digital communications materials to all audiences, including patients, physicians, students and employees. This includes purchasing rental lists, maintaining the distribution list (contacts and numbers for each source), managing the magazine racks, managing subscriber requests, creating tracking protocols, and liaising with the printer and digital team on distribution.
    • Generates distribution summaries for all projects and a quarterly report for key stakeholders on overall audience reach
    • Advises on distribution strategies and researches new options for reaching key audiences
    • Oversees the onboarding of new vendors (writers, illustrators, photographers, transcribers, etc.)
    • Processes and tracks freelancer invoices and payments; coordinates with the office manager on Purchase Order balances and updates
    • Assists in the coordination of photoshoot logistics
    • Manages the conversion of print content to digital templates
    • Assists with researching, uploading, and managing publication-commissioned photography on Merlin
    • Helps develop, assign and edit content that showcases excellence throughout NYU Langone
    • Performs additional duties as assigned

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree; master's in journalism preferred with a minimum of five years of experience in a high-level editorial post. Proficiency in InDesign and InCopy Superb writing and editing skills High-quality published clips and examples Ability to translate complex scientific information for a general audience

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Maintains a network of science and health writers Knowledgeable about biomedical science and healthcare Organized and detail-oriented
