    POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Student Intern. In this role, The Division of Epidemiology at NYU Langone Health is seeking candidates for interns to play a key role in expanding a major initiative housed in one of the nations leading population health departments. The City Health Dashboard (https://www.cityhealthdashboard.com/) is an online resource developed by NYU to help the 766 largest US cities leverage the power of data to improve the health and well-being for everyone in their community. The Dashboard features city- and neighborhood-specific data on measures of health and health determinants to help cities understand gaps and target actions to create healthier, more equitable communities. Based out of the Department of Population Health at NYU School of Medicine, the Dashboard initiative seeks student interns to assist in a systematic literature review identifying social determinants of public safety. The interns will join a team of researchers, staff, and other collaborators in reviewing articles for potential inclusion in the review, and extracting relevant data from selected articles. The interns may also be responsible for other projects related to the City Health Dashboard, including research and writing about congressional district health policies. This position is remote.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • In partnership with the Senior Research Project Manager, contribute to an ongoing systematic literature review of social determinants of public safety
    • Research and writing related to health and health policy
    • Other tasks as necessary

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify you must have a High School Diploma required. The student intern must be a full-time student, or if working in the summer months (Mid-May through Mid-Sept), must be planning to return to full-time status in the fall.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Enrolled in a master's or doctoral degree program with a focus on public health, population health, social work, health policy, or a related field. Experience conducting literature reviews and assessing quality of evidence. Ability to commit at least 15-20 hours per week. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Strong time-management and prioritization skills. Ability to work well under pressure and in teams Proficiency with MS Office Suite

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $15.00 - $44.59 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
